One month with Baby Beau has been absolute HEAVEN and it's all a blur now to be honest. Two kids is no joke! I am tired, hormonal, emotional, tired, but I am so happy too! I was looking over what I wrote for Halle's one month post and it's pretty crazy how much I wrote. You can tell she was my first kid because now I don't have any time for that. But it's important to me and I love looking back on that stuff so here I am making the effort!
-Beau is not as great of a sleeper as Halle was right when she came home. But, I didn't expect him to be because Halle started sleeping straight through the night from the very beginning! Although, Beau's first night home he slept through and I had to wake him up after four hours to eat, but then after that he stayed pretty consistent and woke up at once in the night, sometimes twice. I had never experienced that before with Halle, (I know, NOT normal. haha) so I was a zombie!
-We had such success with Halle with swaddling her up super tight every night before bed, so we have stayed consistent with Beau. We have been using the Ollie Swaddle and we love it and he loves it. It has velcro and is basically a baby straight jacket but it works really great.
-Nursing. From the beginning Beau has been an amazing nurser. He latched on so easily within an hour of being born and never looked back. I am so grateful! Nursing with Halle was really hard in the beginning so I'm grateful it's been a good experience so far. I love nursing even though it is so demanding and hard too. Part of the reason it's been easier this time around may be because I've done it before, but Beau latched on easier at first too for sure! I thought the second time around my milk coming in might not be as painful but, oh, don't worry, it was. Ouch. He also will take a bottle which I am grateful for!
-Beau definitely has blue eyes and they are not going to change colors. He looks so much like Halle, they are the girl and boy version of each other! I thought for sure I was going to get a little mini Kevin, but so far my genes have proven pretty strong! haha
-Beau is still sleeping in our room with us, in the rock and play next to the bed. God bless the Rock and Play. My friend Kylie let us borrow her mamaroo and we have been loving that too. It's nice to have right off the kitchen so I have a place to put Beau when I'm helping Halle or making dinner.
-He's had some serious snot and boogers! He had a little cough which may have been a little cold, but nothing serious. Thank the heavens for the Nose Frida!
-Beau is a big fan of the binkie and I love having a binkie baby!
-Halle mostly acts like Beau doesn't exist but she's warming up to her little brother! I was facetimeing my parents one day and we were talking about Beau and next thing I know Halle bit my big toe! I was dying- someone is a little jealous.
Having a newborn is pure heaven and I love it so much! I am so grateful for my perfect, sweet little boy.
