May

At the first part of May, Halle had her thumb surgery! When she was 18 months old we noticed that her left thumb was permanently bent. She couldn't straighten it, and if we tried she acted like it was painful. After talking to doctors, it was determined that she had trigger finger. 1 in like 10,000 kids get it, so it was kind of crazy. But basically our Dr told us that usually it goes away by a certain age, but if it doesn't they can do a little surgery where they clip the ligament.
Well fast forward to May of this year, her finger would frequently snap back into place and straighten out, but then about in our later it would click back, and she seemed in a bit of pain for all of it. So we talked to the Dr and it seemed as if it wasn't going to go back on it's own, so we decided to schedule the surgery. We especially wanted to do it before July because we had met our deductible with having Beau and wanted to pay $0 for the surgery. Can you blame us?

Here is one of the only pics I can find of the bent thumb. (left hand) She would make a fist with her little hand all the time because of that thumb. This was when she was a few months away from turning two.

The surgery was scheduled for early in the morning, we needed to be there at 6:30 am. But we didn't know the time will that morning so it was hard to get a babysitter. So Kev ended up taking her to Primary Children's and I stayed home with Beau. He sent me play by plays the entire time and she did really well. Lucky for Halle it was a really simple surgery that was only a 24 hour recovery. I'm so glad the surgery was at Primary Children's because I felt like she was in the best hands!

After the surgery when she woke up:

She was feeling good enough that Kev went back to work. By the end of the day she was not feeling great and Beau was having a rough day and it was a little brutal. Picture of me waiting for Kev to get home from work:

The rest of May was pretty uneventful with the fam

Beau and cousin Wayne going for a walk

This girl kills me in her sunglasses

Beau turned 10 months old! what??!

Little bro Brandon went so his senior Ball!

These are some of my favorite pictures of Halle. She is the absolute best!

Naptime for Beau

We go on lots of walks and Beau's faces in these are so cute!

This succession is hilarious. Real life right here!

Also real life, Halle having an absolute melt down after our walk.

We rented the book, "Pinkalicious" from the Library. It's about a girl that eats too many pink cupcakes so she turns pink. So we took Halle to get a cupcake at Sweet Tooth Fairy and she kept saying she was going to turn blue!

I went a little overboard and took some photos of cute Beau. I love my little 10 month old!

And then Halle had to join in the fun!

We hiked Bells Canyon. Last time we hiked it I was pregnant with Beau. We love this hike! We let Halle do most of the hiking because she kept saying she wanted to walk. It took a lot longer than it usually would have, but she really enjoyed it. So I guess this is our life now!

Holding hands! Melts my heart.

That little cutie

Oh Beau Beau!

Mother's Day 2018! Halle was so sweet and excited to give me some presents in the morning. We stayed home with just our little family, so I didn't get much of a break but it was still a good mother's day. I love being their mother!

Jumping in muddy puddles like Peppa Pig!

This is us waiting for Kev to come home from work. haha

Pool party in the backyard!

We started going to the library once a week and still do it to this day. (in August) Halle loves it because she gets to read new books and Kev and I love it because we don't go crazy reading the same books over and over again. I love how much she loves books!

Gwen came and hung out with us for a few hours one morning, we can't to be her neighbor!

Halle loves helping dad bake!

My little brother Brandon graduated from High School! He's the last Dodd to graduate from Logan High, an end of an era! We were flying out to Kev's bro's wedding on the day of his actual graduation so I came up the night before for his Candlelight ceremony. I'm so glad I could, so proud of my brother!

We had a fun weekend in Logan and played kickball and soccer on the fields at USU with the fam.

Bath time for Beau Beau!

 Halle loves her gymnastics class!

The girl has no fear!

Backyard hangs with Hal Pal.

Me trying to take as many picture of Beau as I did of Halle when she was his age. haha

Kev came home one night and decided he wanted to make a cheesecake from scratch and made this beauty. I am continually impressed by him!

May was good to us!
