The Isle of Capri

Bright and early we headed on a ferry from Positano to the Island of Capri. One of the things I had wanted to make sure we did was a boat ride to see the coast and the cliffs from the water. It did not disappoint!

As we were on the boat on our way to Capri, Kev and I had the realization that the Capri Sun drink pouches are definitely named after this island. We are dorks. haha
Capri was breathtaking. We pulled into the harbor and saw all of the boats and it looked like a movie set to me! We were so lucky and had the most beautiful weather in late April. It really could have gone any way. In fact, the theme of the trip was good weather and I was so grateful because weather seems to really affect my mood, especially on vacation!

The Island of Capri is known for the Blue Grotto, which are caverns that have the brightest blue water that is from sunlight coming through the caves. We wanted to see it, but there were crowds and crowds of people getting on these ferries which we weren't too pumped about. Then an Italian man approached us and offered to take us around the island on his boat, just the two of us. We did it and I am SO glad we did! Our guide was Gennaro and he was the sweetest. He took us to several hidden grottos and gave us history of the island over the course of 2 hours.  He said the day we were there was the first nice, sunny, and warm day they had had all year. Talk about lucky! And we were able to see  the famous blue grottos. That water was unreal!

There are way too many photos of me thanks to Kev. :) I do like some of the ones he got though!

Gennaro offered to take our picture at every spot we stopped and of course we didn't say no!

Me listening to Gennaro's stories. haha

Our guide compared this arch to the Statue of Liberty in New York, saying that it is a landmark that Capri is known for. Since we've been home I see it all the time (travel photos, commercials, etc) and now I know exactly where in the world it's from! He drove us through it, told us we had to kiss through it, took Kev's phone and recorded us. The video's audio is so funny with his Italian accent telling us to kiss more! haha

Gennaro let Kev drive the boat. haha

Just look at that water! I couldn't believe it was natural!

He brought us in this cave because it the rock formation was of a heart!

The pictures speak for themselves but this was the best day, just cruising on a private boat around the Island of Capri.

We had a delicious lunch afterwards at a local restaurant. These were probably the most delicious homemade noodles I have ever eaten.

And don't get me started on this gelato!

So funny story at that restaurant, at the end of our meal when we had asked for our check, the waiter brought out these two shot glasses and said that it was a green apple drink on the house. Well you might think, well of course that's alcohol! But hear this backstory: so right when we got to our hotel, we were served two shot glasses and it was this delicious almond drink, without alcohol. So when he brought the apple drink, we thought it was something similar to that. And it was the middle of the day. So Kev and I both took a sip, and it was like fire in my mouth. haha that was definitely alcohol! So Kev and I had our first drink this trip, that's definitely memorable!

It was the dreamiest day, no other way to describe it. I love my Kev!
