good bye HI!

This is the last of my Hawaii posts, to read the first one click here.
Right before we flew back to Honolulu in order to fly home we went to the Kona temple. It is so beautiful! We had some time to kill so we hung out a bit on the grounds and it was nice. It was a Saturday and there were a bunch of youth and leaders there getting back from a service activity and they were heading to the beach. A little different then my youth activities growing up!

We went on a walk around Kona and Halle dripped a popsicle all over her outfit. haha

gotcha

We flew to Honolulu and caught our plane home on Sunday night. The night before we grabbed a cheap hotel since we wouldn't be there long at all. It was the first time that all four of us had ever slept in the same room at the same time. It went surprisingly well and everybody slept! Kev and I just went to bed super early but we didn't mind, we were all exhausted. It was so funny because Halle was trying to get our attention and to get us to react in the dark and she kept saying, "All the way up! All the way up!" It's from a rap song that Kev taught her. We were dying and squeezing each other's hand, but trying not to laugh. She eventually went to sleep.

The next morning we decided to walk to church and it was kind of a long walk, but it was really nice to be at church and take the Sacrament after 10 days of being away from home. We went to this really cool old tabernacle in Honolulu. It was so unique, I'd never seen one like that before!

After church Mike, Steph and Rosie came and met us for lunch and we spent the afternoon with them. They are the best and I'm so glad we were able to spend time with them!
We flew out that night and everyone slept on the flight home. Hawaii was one for the books!

  1. I attended church in that same building when my high school choir took a week long trip to Hawaii many, many years ago. It is a cool building!
